Meet Your MLO
Aloha! I'm Myrna, your Mortgage Loan Originator, based on the beautiful island of Kauai, Hawaii.
I won’t bore you with the typical, “I am passionate about assisting homebuyers in….or my goal is to provide excellent customer service and ensure a smooth and blah, blah, blah….” cliché. Being an outside-of-the-box type of person I am, I thought a short, personal Q&A would be a much more fun way to get to know a little about me.

States I'm Currently Licensed In

What made you passionate about mortgage lending?
I’ve always been a numbers gal and I love anything that involves problem-solving whether it’s a 1000 piece puzzle, brainteasers, or a crime scene investigation. Mortgage lending relies heavily on these two skills.
A personal experience buying a home that changed your perspective?
I was a victim of predatory lending. That is why I am passionate about educating my clients, giving them choices, and making sure they are comfortable taking the next step forward.
What’s your secret sauce for making the home-buying process smooth?
I believe communication is key and that there is no such thing as over communicating. Some parts of the home-buying process can be confusing, overwhelming, or both, especially for first-time buyers. I try to make sure my clients always know what’s happening and what to expect next.
Can you still help me if I’m not in one of your licensed states?
I can’t legally take your application but I can certainly pass you along to one of my awesome colleagues whom I personally know and/or feel will uphold to the same standards as I do and equally important – is licensed in your state.
What’s your go-to way to relax and recharge after a busy day?
Scrolling through reels, reading a book, or watching a good rom-com.
Who or what inspires you to keep doing what you do?
Not inspired but more like prodded by the infamous Bill.
Coffee addict? Wine enthusiast?
Neither. I’m a dark chocolate lover and Italian cuisine epicurean.
Love DIY home projects or real estate design?
Both actually. I could leaf through interior decor & designs all day. I leave the actual building to my husband, who is a handyman. My favorite residential design is inspired by Architect Sarah Susanka, author of The Not So Big House. I prefer living spaces that are cozy and functional for every day life.
Big on traveling, hiking, or beach getaways?
I’m big on traveling (especially internationally) and exploring different cultures, foods, and most of all the local people.
If you could move anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Hmmm…it’s a toss between Italy and Switzerland. But I actually love my lil garden isle of Kauai, it’s just as breathtaking as the others.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten?
People may forget what you told them, but they’ll never forget how you made them feel.
What’s something relatable & lighthearted about you?
1) I’m that person that can stare at a fridge full of food and still declare, “There’s nothing to eat.”
2) I dread putting away groceries in my freezer. It’s like playing Tetris and Jenga at the same time.
3) Watching an episode of Hoarders makes me go on a cleaning frenzy the next day.
What’s one thing you think every homebuyer should know before taking the plunge?
Don’t rush it! This is a huge decision, and you want to make sure you’re getting the best deal for you, not just what seems easiest in the moment. Take your time to understand your options, ask lots of questions, and make sure you’re truly comfortable with your decision. It’s all about finding the right fit for you, your family, and your future!
The Rest of the Team
Although I’m your go-to gal in the mortgage process from start to finish, in reality there are many key players involved in the process as well. Like me, everyone in the process want to see you win in the end. So please be cooperative and responsive when any of them request further documentations or clarifications from you.
The Processor
“Hello! I’m the loan processor, which means I help make sure all your paperwork is in order so your loan can get approved smoothly. You’ll probably hear more from me than anyone else in the loan process. I’ll check your documents, follow up if anything is missing, and work with the lender to keep things moving—so you don’t have to stress about the details!”
The Underwriter
“G’day! I’m the underwriter, and I’m the one who reviews everything—your income, credit, and the home’s value—to make sure the loan meets all the rules. I help decide if it’s good to go or if we need more info to get you approved!”
The Building Inspector
“Hi! I’m the home inspector, and my job is to check the house from top to bottom to make sure everything is safe and working properly. I’ll look at things like the roof, plumbing, electrical, and more, then give you a report so you know if there are any issues before you buy!”
The Pest Inspector
“Howzit! I’m the pest inspector, and my job is to check the home for bugs or critters that could cause damage, like termites or rodents. I’ll make sure there are no hidden problems so you can buy your home with confidence!”
The Surveyor
“Aloha! I’m the surveyor, and I map out the property to show exactly where the land borders are. I make sure there are no boundary issues so you know exactly what you’re buying!”
The Appraiser
“Howdy! I’m the appraiser, and my job is to figure out how much the home you’re buying (or refinancing) is really worth. I’ll visit the property, check out its condition, compare it to similar homes, and give a fair value so the lender knows it’s a good investment for your loan!”
The Attorney
“Hello there! I’m the attorney, and I make sure all the legal stuff in your home purchase is handled correctly. I review contracts, check the title, and help make sure everything is good to go so you can close with confidence!” – (Mainly Hawaii & Texas)
The Title Agent
“Hi-ya! I’m the title agent, and I make sure the home’s title is clear—meaning no hidden issues or past debts that could cause problems. I also handle the title insurance, so you’re protected as the new owner!”
The Settlement Agent
“Hey! I’m the settlement agent, and I make sure everything is legally finalized on closing day. I handle the money, make sure all the paperwork is signed correctly, and officially transfer the home into your name—so you can officially get the keys to your new home!”
